He is a former co-president of Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa (the Māori Law Society), a former member of the Hazardous substances and New Organisms Committee, the Advertising Standards Complaints Board and a former member of a New Zealand Law Society Standards Committee.

Power to delegate The trustees may delegate any power of the trustees to any one of, or a committee of, the trustees. Any trustee or committee of trustees acting under a power delegated to them must comply with the terms of this trust order and, unless there is proof to the contrary, shall also be presumed to be acting within the terms of the delegation.

Fifth The project has also highlighted the need for the Māori Land Court to be more proactive in its identification and review of defunct trusts and incorporations due to circumstances such as the death of key trustee or management committee members. It is rarely the case that the Māori Land Court judges do not appoint people into these positions where selected by owners.
