SUCCESSION TO SHARES
Shares in a Māori incorporation are deemed to be shares in
Māori land, and succession is arranged in the same way as for
Māori land.
Where a grant of letters of administration20 or probate21
has been issued, the executor22 may apply directly to the
Māori incorporation to transfer the deceased’s shares to the
successors23.
In this scenario, we will send you a letter advising you of the judicial directions. If you submitted the dispute resolution application without direction from a judge / registrar, your application will be closed.
However, if the Will has been probated or letters of
administration or an election to administer have been granted by the High Court – you must complete Form 21.
