Once the Court is satisfied that successors to the original beneficiaries of SILNA lands have been identified as far as possible, a meeting of successors will be called for the relevant block. Successors at this hui may consider alternative redress options, if applicable.
We tend to hold at least one AGM hui a year. Having made contact with the trustees of various ahu whenua trusts and the administrators of incorporations we now regularly receive correspondence from those entities.
Trustee responsibilities can include:
researching options for the whenua on behalf of owners
attending regular trustee meetings to discuss and debate plans for the trust
communicating with owners and organising hui for owners or trustees to discuss plans for the whenua
visiting the whenua regularly to check on the wellbeing of the land, and
working with people involved in the whenua or trust, such as a lessee, accountant, or management team.
When an application for dispute resolution is accepted, you
will need to be available to attend the dispute resolution
(mediation) hui when scheduled.
You will be included in discussions to confirm a suitable date
and venue for the mediation hui, and to agree on the tikanga
during mediation.
Ka taea e koe te haere atu ki tētahi hui mēnā he kaitiaki hou koe, mēnā kei te whakaaro ki te uru hei kaitiaki, mēnā rānei kei te akoako anō kia mōhio ake koe.

For some applications, landowners will need to notify other owners of their application to the Court ahead of time so they can attend hui, support the application, make a payment offer, or object to the application.
