REGISTER OF MĀORI INCORPORATIONS
Each MLC office is required to maintain a register of Māori
incorporations within its district and make it available for the
public to inspect; the Court may charge a fee for this.
If requested by the family, the MLC can direct
that money held be used to pay for such things as funeral
expenses.
Selling Māori land to pay debts
The Act doesn’t allow estate trustees to sell Māori land to pay
the deceased’s debts.
