Simple and uncontested trust applications Before 6 February 2021 Trust applications are decided by a Māori Land Court judge.
Trustees may be held personally liable, jointly and severally, for any losses a trust may sustain and for other breaches of trust.
This is the case for the largest and most successful trusts and incorporations, such as the Tuaropaki Trust and Mangatu Incorporation, right down to the smallest papakainga trusts.
