Any benefit derived from the trust are used to fund Māori Community Purposes (mostly charitable) as defined by section 218 of Te Ture Whenua Act 1993. The MLC operates under the provisions of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 (‘the Act’). Trustees1 are bound by Te Ture Whenua Māori Act and the Trusts Act 2019.
