An appeal under Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 may only be lodged within 2 months from the date of the decision or determination, unless accompanied by an application seeking leave to appeal out of time on Form 1. Different time frames for filing may apply to appeals under other Acts.

While a number of the sessions were not directly relevant to our work in the Māori Land Court, all sessions were interesting and had aspects which made you think about the work we do and how we do our work.
I have chosen to use the first edition of the re-launched Judges Corner to set out some basic information about Māori freehold land in 2011, and the steps currently being taken by the Māori Land Court to ensure owners of this land have access to all necessary information in relation to this land in our mutual work to enable the retention and utilisation of their whenua.
Any panel assigned to review an Act must focus on its substance: that is, what works and what does not work? This was particularly important for the present review as the earlier TPK and MAF reports had perceived there to be “regulatory impediments” to utilisation and development of Māori land without providing any specific examples.
