REMOVING A MEMBER OF THE COMMITTEE
Any shareholder can apply to the MLC to remove a member
or members from the committee, provided that there are
grounds for removal.
The
Incorporation (and not the Court) manages the list of
shareholders.
Members of the committee of management act in the
same capacity as a board of directors would for a
company, making decisions about the affairs of the
incorporation – however under our Act they also have
the same duties as a trustee in whom land is vested.
The witness must state their address and
occupation.
Committee of management
The Māori incorporation’s committee of management
is responsible for registering the transfer against the
incorporation’s share registration, but may refuse to register
if they are not satisfied that the transferee is a member of the
preferred classes of alienee, or if the transfer is not properly
completed.
The
witness must state his or her address and
occupation.
