Use this form to file an application to the Chief Judge of the Māori Land Court to exercise their power under section 44 of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 to correct a mistake, error or omission on the part of the Court or in the presentation of the facts of a case to the Court.
Where the transaction is a gift the Court may dispense with the signature of the transferee where it is satisfied that the transferee is aware of, and agrees with, the vesting. If there are a number of transferees indicate how the blocks or shares are to be allocated e.g equally or otherwise.
For example, you may need to provide your bank account details and an IRD number.
In completing the whakapapa form to accompany the application a party to the exchange should clearly indicate how he or she qualifies to receive shares under the above provisions.
During the Māori Freehold Land Registration Project, the Court came across a number of instances of this kind. In a small number of cases with the consent of the owners of the land the Court was able to formalise the situation.
For more information about individual incorporations you will need to contact your local Māori Land Court. This data is intended to provide general information only.
