Accessing Pātaka Whenua
Step 1
In your web browser, visit the Māori Land Court website www.māorilandcourt.govt.nz and click
the green tab in the top right area labelled“Pātaka Whenua – our online portal”.

This will expand the Search menu, select “Ownership” from the available options.

This will expand the Search menu, select “Document” from the options shown.
You can bring whānau with you to court to support you and your application. If you are a whānau or hapū member who did not submit the application but would like to speak in Court, you can file a ‘ Notice of intention to appear upon application ’.
To transfer is sale, you’ll also need to provide:
evidence of the value of the shares being sold
evidence or agreement to support a lower value sale (if below valuation).
