Title reconstruction and improvement
Title1 reconstruction and improvement is covered by Part 14
of the Act. The principal purpose of this partof the Act is to
empower the MLC to facilitate the use and occupation ofland
by Māori landowners, enabling owners to improve their land
holdings through better title configuration and provide, add
to or otherwise enhance their access to the land.
For instance, an alienation includes the making or grant of any lease, licence, easement, mortgage or charge or any kind of encumbrance or trust in respect of the land in the reservation.
