Typically, as in the election of officers (chairperson etc), the trustees will make that election themselves. In Utuhina, it is the beneficiaries who make that choice.

Fisheries Act 1996 The Fisheries Act 1996 enables a Judge of the Māori Land Court to hear applications and make recommendations for the establishment of a Taiapure - local fishery.
When you submit an application, you’ll need to include information about the trust and trustees.
The Act now enables trusts to grant leases and occupation licenses for the purposes of education, health or papakāinga housing for a period of more than 14 years. This will make it easier to build on Māori reservation land.
