Wāwāhanga tōpū (utu tāpae $228)
Combined partition (filing fee $228)
A combined partition combines multiple pieces of land to form one block, which can then be re-divided amongst existing owners.
You can combine Māori land, general land, or both, regardless of size, shape, location, or status.
This may help you and other landowners decide on future development or use of your whenua. If you’re making a whenua timeline you can access historical information of that whenua as recorded in the Māori Land Court (or our predecessor, the Native Land Court).
When the life tenant dies or re-marries, their life interest ends, and the estate passes to the next-of-kin of the person from whom the interest came (usually their children).
This should be done by the trustee or the person the trust was created for, when they’re able to do so.

Tarati pūtea (utu tāpae $68)
Pūtea trust (filing fee $68)
A pūtea trust allows people who own small interests in Māori land to pool their interests together for the benefit of their wider whānau and descendants.
Te Roopū Tautoko i Te Reo Māori, a cross-
rohe working group to support te reo Māori
activity across the court, re-developed Te Rautaki
Reo o Te Kooti Whenua Māori 2025 (The Māori
Land Court Te Reo Māori Strategy 2025), which
affirms the court’s commitment to te reo Māori
revitalisation and outlines the language-related
activities to be undertaken across the administra-
tion of the court over a twelve-month period.
