Normally, if the hui is run well, there won't be any objections, and attendees will be willing to engage and contribute to the trust or incorporation.
Where the title to the land is held by a Māori land trust or a Māori Incorporation, the mortgage has to be sent to the Māori Land Court’s Registrar for noting (ss 150A and 150B of the Act).
This is the case for the largest and most successful trusts and incorporations, such as the Tuaropaki Trust and Mangatu Incorporation, right down to the smallest papakainga trusts.
