Pātaka Whenua is the online portal that holds the Māori Land Court electronic record, which includes minutes and orders. Pātaka Whenua gives you the ability to search and access Māori land information, submit an enquiry and file a Court application from anywhere at any time.
After the Court hearing
Within a few weeks of the court hearing, you will receive a court minute including a summary of the
application, a transcript of what was said at Court and the outcome of your application.
The owners first need to have a meeting at which they:
• agree to set up the trust
• agree which blocks of land or shares should be included in
the trust
• agree to the terms of the draft trust order which sets out
the trustees’ powers, rights and obligations
• nominate trustees
• take accurate minutes.
