HĀWEA/WĀNAKA SILNA WORKING LIST OF POTENTIAL OWNERS AS AT 9 SEPTEMBER 2021
The Māori Land Court has released an updated working list of potential owners entitled to the
Hāwea/Wānaka Substitute Land (Section 2 of 5 Block XIV Lower Wanaka Survey District)
under Section 15 of the Ngāi Tahu Deed of Settlement 1997.
Chief Judge Fox was appointed as a Māori Land Court judge on 1 October 2000, and shortly thereafter was appointed as the Presiding Officer of the Waitangi Tribunal’s Central North Island district inquiry in 2001. She has gone on to lead a number of Tribunal inquiries, including the Porirua ki Manawatū and Te Rohe Pōtae district inquiries, the Constitutional kaupapa inquiry, and urgent inquiries into claims concerning aquaculture and marine farming, Te Arawa Treaty settlement and mandating...
Judge Coxhead was appointed to the Māori Land Court in 2008 and is one of the resident judges in Waiariki, as well as a Presiding Officer in the Waitangi Tribunal, Chief Justice of the High Court of Niue and a Justice of the High Court of Cook Islands. Judge Coxhead’s 16 years of judicial service, and his extensive experience and knowledge of law and tikanga, will serve him well as he steps into his new position as Deputy Chief Judge.

An owner or group of owners may benefit by combining their
interests, held in two neighbouring blocks, into one block. For
instance, they may own block A and also have an interest in
block B.

Step 1
After locating the block, whether by the Search menu or the Block Map, once you open the block
information page you will find several different sections including:
• block name and ID details,
• owner details overview,
• area details
• map of the block shape,
• and an originated documents list.
(b) The Occupier shall not make or permit noise or behaviour on the Site that would
interfere with the quiet enjoyment of the other occupiers of the Parent Block.
(c) The Occupier shall not permit the Site to be used for any Commercial Activity
that would unreasonably interfere with the quiet enjoyment of the other
occupiers of the Parent Block, and ensure that the primary use of the Site
remains consistent with the overall use of the Site being for residential
