The opening ceremony began with karakia led by mana whenua kaumātua representative Cordry Huata (Ngāti Kahungunu) and whānau, who blessed each area of the building as guests were welcomed through the newly designed spaces.
To date, the Court has determined the successors of 125 original owners and are now seeking whakapapa information for the remaining owners from around 1895 who have not yet been succeeded to.
