Toitū te Whenua hold information about historical transfers, surveying titles, or land that has been converted to general land.
The primary purpose of both meetings will be to discuss:
• The Mouri Tūroa project and opportunities available for owners of the above blocks;
• Options to enable Mouri Tūroa to complete the proposed work, including but not restricted to:
o A limited powers Ahu Whenua Trust over some or all of the above clusters of blocks,
and election of trustee(s);
o The appointment of an agent to represent the owners of some or all of the above
clusters of blocks;
o A full powers Ahu Whe...
We recommend that you keep these documents in a safe place, as they will help you decide what steps to take going forward. Some examples of steps you may consider include:
continuing with a current application in the Māori Land Court
submitting a further application to the Māori Land Court
seeking advice or continuing with further mediation outside of the Māori Land Court.
A person(s) bound to deal with property on behalf of the owners or beneficiaries.
The trustee becomes the legal owner when the order appointing them as trustee
for the land is registered against the title.
Land Management Structures
Note: This includes management structure types of Ahu Whenua Trusts, Whenua Tōpū Trusts, Māori Incorporations, Māori Reservations,
and trusts that are a sole owner of a block. See excluded land types on page 2.
Once you have received the sealed order from the Court setting out the money that is owed to you, it's your responsibility to contact the trust or incorporation holding the money. You will need to ask what information they need from you to pay the money to you.
