The Māori Land Court is notifying all owners of the above blocks about the following hui:
WHENUA: Karikarirau, Huruaute, Te Kaha No 31, Te Koau 1 and Te Koau 2 blocks
TRUST: Te Koau Lands Trust
DATE: 30 May 2026
TIME: 9:30 AM registration 10:00 AM start
VENUE: Te Kaha Beach Hotel

ZOOM: Meeting ID: 851 0825 3828

Kaupapa:
• Elect new (5) trustees
• Consider proposal for an occupation order...
A licence to occupy gives you permission to build on or occupy whenua. However, the title of ownership remains with the trust or management body and the licence can’t be passed on by succession.
Just before I wind up, I want to make a few brief comments about the Court and the Tribunal. For Te Kooti Whenua Māori this is a time of uncertainty. We await confirmation of the details and programme for the Government’s review of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act, and so now is not the time for comment from the judiciary.
