VARYING THE TERMS OF A TRUST If the trustees want to review their powers, rights and obligations, as set out in the trust order, they need the support of the beneficiaries, and so they need to hold a meeting with them. Any changes agreed to at the meeting can be formalised by filing an application with the MLC to vary the trust order.

The information you’ll need is: • all the deceased person’s names (including maiden name, if applicable) • the deceased person’s siblings’ names • the deceased person’s parents’ names (including their mother’s maiden name) • the names of anyone from whom the deceased person may have obtained interests • the names of the lands in which the deceased person may have had interests.

The record will include the name of each shareholder who received a dividend, the amount paid to the shareholder and the date of each payment.
