He was appointed as a Native Land Court Judge on 3 February 1919. He entered practice in 1905, only 8 years after Victoria University was established, so it seems a fair bet that he was our first judge to attend VUW.
An application to constitute a whānau trust was filed in 2004 and eventually heard in February of 2005. A whānau trust was formed at that stage with myself and two cousins being appointed as trustees.

7. The powers and duties that the incorporation must comply with, in this case the
constitution for incorporations constituted by the Māori Land Court are the Māori
Incorporations Constitution Regulations 1994.
