Within the Māori Land Court districts, average ownership numbers range from 51 owners per block in the Tākitimu district to 154 owners per block in the Waiariki district.
The meeting must be properly
advertised in a main newspaper circulating
in the district where the land is located. The
advertisement should identify the land and
state the purpose for the meeting.
Contracts
are usually written, but a spoken agreement
can also be a contract.

The committee of management is also required to file a
copy of the accounts with the MLC in the district the land
is situated within 14 days after the general meeting of
shareholders.
