WHĀNAU AND PŪTEA TRUSTS
If the shares are owned by a whānautrust, trustees will
receive the notice of the meeting and vote for those shares.
Whenua tōpū trusts, again a land management trust, which provide for iwi or hapū based
trusts designed to facilitate the use and administration of the land on behalf of a wider class
of owner, normally a whānau, hapū or iwi grouping.
If you want to sell or gift your shares, and those shares form
part of Māori land vested in a Māori incorporation, you must
file a transfer application with the secretary of the Māori
incorporation.
