WHAT IS THIS FORM FOR?
A judge must approve a long-term lease at a court sitting, which will take place at the venue closest to the whenua.

If you or any other party breach the terms of a lease, the matter can be heard by a judge.
The unique relationship between Māori and whenua is
recognised by the MLC, and the records held by the Court
form an invaluable part of the whakapapa of all Māori people.

If the applicant is a trust board, trust, or other legal entity, the application
must be signed under the common seal or other legal form appropriate to
that body.

Lawyers that are appointed by the Court’s own motion may:

However, it is possible to make application to the Court to have an area excluded from a reservation pursuant to section 338(5), and then to set up an ahu whenuatrust in relation to the excluded area with the object of allowing housing development to take place.
