Discussion
I have considered the 2026 November Te Taitokerau District court sitting dates for Kaikohe
and Kaitaia that have been gazetted by the Kairēhita Matua in accordance with the schedule
published under the authority of the Kaiwhakawā Matua of the Māori LandCourt, under rule
3.3 of the Māori LandCourt Rules 2011.
It is the Native
LandCourt (it became the ‘Māori’ LandCourt in
1947) which has been a constant factor, and it is
the Court which gives the subject of Māori land
law its coherence and thematic unity.
