General powers of Trustees
1.3 The Trustees have the following general powers:
(a) all the powers necessary to manage the Trust Property including, in relation to
the Trust Property, all the powers of an absolute owner of the property; and
(b) all the powers necessary to carry out the terms of the Trust, including powers
incidental to those in paragraph (a).
The Court may approve hourly rates that are higher than the hourly rates paid by Legal
Aid Services for appearances before the Waitangi Tribunal.
14. In determining the fees for a lawyer appointed by the Court’s own motion or for an uplift
in the hourly rate for appointments on applications by parties, subject to the overriding
discretion of the Judge, the Court will take into account the factors outlined above and
any other relevant factors.
