As a newly appointed Judge of the Māori Land Court it is highly appropriate that my
contribution to the Judges’ Corner relates to one of the new tools added to our kete by the
legislative changes that came into effect in February this year.

This includes a list of all aggregated (or combined) Māori landblocks. It does not include information about Crown Land, Crown Land Reserved for Māori, general land owned by Māori, or landblocks under internal review.
This information helps us to find the correct records relating to your whānau and whenua so we can make sure the land is being transferred to the right people.
The website also
contains a link to Māori Land Online, a tool
that provides web based information on
the current ownership and title information 1
for all Māori Land Court blocks.
The introduction of Pātaka Whenua marked
the closing of MLIS (Māori Land Information
System), the previous Māori Land Court technol-
ogy system, which has served the court and land-
owners/users since 1999.
