This application form has been modified specifically for use in determining the successors for SouthIsland Landless
Natives (SILNA) lands in accordance with Part 15 of the Ngāi Tahu Deed of Settlement.
This working list is comprised of successors to the 50 original beneficiaries who were
allocated land between Lakes Hāwea and Wānaka (‘The Neck’) under the ‘SILNA’ scheme.
The SouthIsland Landless Natives Act 1906 was repealed in 1909 without those 50 people
having received their SILNA land.
