The purpose of the National Pänui / Te Pänui ä Motu is
to provide notice to interested parties of hearings being
conducted in, and applications received by, the Mäori Land
Court.
These reports can provide information about a land block and can help you:
findout where the whenua is — you’ll be able to see the boundaries of the land and find it on the map
see aerial photos of the whenua as it looks now
findout about the environment, economy, and climate where the whenua is
get information about the whenua itself — about the soil, water, slope, and vegetation.
The completed summary will be referred to a
Judge who may direct further enquiries to be
made, or notice of the application to be given
to other people who may be interested in, or
be affected by, the application.
Thank you Utuhina and the Court in Waiariki for your contribution to the evolution of effective structures to administer and utilise multiply-owned Māori land.
If your application type is not listed, you will need to complete a manual application form.
The forms are available to print via the Māori Land Court website.
Whakapapa of any person who is receiving shares in Māori land.
Explanatory Notes

(i) a child or remoter issue of the owner in that block of the shares to be exchanged, or
(ii) a descendant of any former owner who is or was a member of the hapū associated with the land
Any owner or interested person may use this form to apply to the Court to call or direct the Registrar to call a meeting
of assembled owners for any Māori Freehold land or General Landowned by Māori to consider 1 or more resolutions for
those matters set out in section 172 of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 (attached as a schedule to this form)
