Māori Purposes Act 1991 The Māori Purposes Act 1991 has limited powers extended to the Court in relation to the Wi Pere Trust. Māori Fisheries Act 2004 The Māori Fisheries Act 2004 enables a Judge of the Māori Land Court to give advice about or determine disputes regarding entitlements.
Where that land is vested in a trust or an incorporation, such an order will only be made with the consent of the trust or management committee, and may be made for a specified period.
Trustees of pūtea trusts don’t have the power to vote. Voting for pūtea trusts is carried out by the owners who contributed shares to the trust.
