PURPOSES OF THE TRUST (OBJECTS)
2.1 The objects of the Trust shall be to:
(a) manage the Trust Property to the best advantage of the Beneficiaries;
(b) preserve the interests of the Beneficiaries; and
(c) provide a pool of income arising from the Trust Property to be applied for the
purposes of promoting the health, social, cultural and economic welfare,
education and vocational training and general advancement in life of the
Beneficiaries.

Other status types
As this update is specifically for Māori Customary Land and Māori Freehold Land it excludes the
following land status types that fall within the jurisdiction of the Māori Land Court:
Crown Land
Crown Land Reserved for Māori
General Land (which maybe vested in a Māori Land Trust)
General Land Owned by Māori (which maybe vested in a Māori Land Trust);
Ownership Only (ownership interests in secondary property rights such as easements,
