There are many ways Māori connect with and utilise whenua, depending on the economic, social, and cultural aspirations of the whānau for the whenua. The Māori LandCourt, alongside our partner agencies, are here to support you and your whānau throughout your whenua journey.

Legislative changes affecting incorporations
Effective from Waitangi Day, 6 February 2021
Register of interest and annual declaration
Māori incorporations must establish and maintain an interests
register for the Māori land held by the incorporation.
The register will record, for each member of the management
committee: details of member’s interest in the Māori freehold
land incorporated; the dealings in the interests by the
member; and declarations made by members.

this Māori land block, are seeking to make contact with all
registered owners.
This is the narrative of a piece of land in Te Tau Ihu – Aorere. It sets out how Judge Reeves dealt with an application for accretion and for determination of ownership, where ownership records had not been maintained for over 100 years.
