There are 27,137 Māori freehold land titles and approximately 2.3 million ownership interests in those titles.
The Court worked by means of written applications filed in advance by Māori people, for example to have title to their land investigated, to have it partitioned, for relative ownerships to be determined, for equitable owners to be added to the title, and so forth.

Are there problems with those titles? Is the concern that the Court registry maintains title records in addition to Land Information New Zealand maintaining the legal title?
