This direction is issued pursuant to rule 3.8(1)(c) of the Māori Land Court Rules 2011 to
cancel the above court and a copy is to be sent to the Kaiwhakawā Matua, the Kairēhita
Matua, the Kairēhita of the Te Waipounamu District Registry of the court.
Over the years, Piri has worked in service of her people in Whanganui including Awa FM, Te Oranganui Iwi Health Authority, Te Puna Matauranga o Whanganui and the Whanganui River Māori Trust Board.
In the last 10 years, Piri has worked at the Māori Land Court in Whanganui and has recently been added to the MLC Leadership Team.

trusts and incorporations function despite the fact that the engaged owners continue
to be a minority, often a mere 5 to 10% of the owners. This is the case for the largest
and most successful trusts and incorporations, such as the Tuaropaki Trust and
Mangatu Incorporation, right down to the smallest papakainga trusts.

Currently Housing New Zealand provides financing along similar lines through the kāinga whenua scheme. However, section 338(12) is a barrier to that form of financing on papakāinga reservations.
