Paneke means to ‘pass by’ or ‘pass through’ and it is the term used to refer to Māori Land Court services away from the district offices.

Information about whenua is generally held by the district office that is located closest to that land block. You can visit one of our offices to view: current and historic ownership lists for whenua Māori minutes of hearings of Court and Registrar decisions current and historic memorial schedule information recording leases, occupations and other land uses orders made by the court or a Registrar – including: title orders (creating Māori land) trust order...
If an owner with Māori land interests is deceased, and probate, letters of administration or an election to administer the estate have been granted by High Court, or is to be obtained, you can use this form to seek a determination from the Court as to those persons entitled to a deceased’s Māori Land interests and an order transferring the interests to those entitled.
