When you have located the correct document and it is displayed in the Search results area, click
on the Document Name to go to the document information page.
Use this form to file an appeal against a final decision or determination of the Māori Land Court.
An appeal may only be lodged within 2 months from the date of the decision or determination, unless
accompanied by an application seeking leave to appeal out of time on form 1.
However, it is important to check the lease as:
(a) The lease may prevent the registration of a mortgage against the leasehold
estate; and
(b) The lease may also require that the lessor has to approve the mortgage (the
lessor is the person or administration structure who granted the lease, who will
usually hold the title to the land).
Try to think of some different ideas that
may be acceptable to both parties.
