Some people become landowners when a whānau member transfers land to them by gift or sale. The Maori LandCourt will ‘vest’ the land interest by way of a vesting order.
The rapid pace of Treaty settlements has created challenges for the Tribunal, and the number of the applications in the Māori LandCourt continues to rise as well. Just before I wind up, I want to make a few brief comments about the Court and the Tribunal.

Publication of recordings in this manner “enables the public to view entire, unedited proceedings” and at the same time “enables the Court to retain control of the recordings”.
It would be interesting to see the response if our Māori LandCourt required the parties’ written submissions in upcoming cases to be uploaded to the Māori landCourt website prior to hearings.
Use this form to file an appeal against an interim or preliminary decision or determination of the Māori LandCourt in which there remain outstanding matters for the Court to address.
