Contesting the will If anyone wants to contest 26 the deceased’s will, they can make application to the High Court or the Family Court for hearing under the Family Protection Act 1955. Notice of the application to the High Court or the Family Court should be filed with the Māori Land Court so that it will not inadvertently make any orders before the High Court or the Family Court has dealt with the matter.
