This is in case any appeal is lodged to contest the decision made by the Judge. Before 6 February 2021 A beneficiary of a whānau trust is not able to apply for an occupation order to use trust land for housing purposes. From 6 February 2021 The Māori Land Court can grant an occupation order to a beneficiary of a whānau trust.
The holder of an occupation order may also leave the occupation order to any one or more of the persons listed above, provided that the person owns a beneficial interest in the land to which the occupation order applies and the Court approves it.
