The mediation process
Apply for dispute resolution
You can apply for dispute resolution for a matter relating to Māori land if all the people involved in the dispute agree to using this service.
That invitation is not made by an order of the Court but by the hope for parties to move forward and strengthen the relationships and kinship ties of the whānau involved.
The benefits of a hapū partition are:
no consent is needed under the Resource Management Act 1991 , and
there’s no requirement for land contributions for roads, reserves, or public use or access.
