To create a trust, you'll need to apply for a trust order. Once an order is granted by the Court, the trust continues until the landowners, beneficiaries, trustees, and the Court agree to end it.
If agreement is reached through mediation, your mediator
will record it and provide it to the Māori Land Court. The judge
may then make a courtorder to formalise the agreement.
Historically, trust applications were heard by a Māori Land
Court judge.

uncontested’, then it can be decided by a Māori Land Court
registrar without a court sitting (unless you request to be
heard by a judge in a court sitting).

There are not many options for people wishing to build on papakāinga reservations but who need to borrow in order to do so.
