If you file an application to the Māori Land Court or the Māori Appellate Court on or after 1 July 2025 , you will notice an increase in the fee you need to pay. For example: Our $22 fee will increase to $23 Our $66 fee will increase to $68 Our $220 fee will increase to $228 Our $385 fee will increase to $399 The full list of updated fees is available here.
Before your application can be processed, you will need to pay the application fee. Fees vary across applications. Application fees are set out in the Māori Land Court Fees Regulations 2013.

In appropriate circumstances the Court may consider a fixed fee arrangement. 16. Of its own motion or by application of a party, the Court may approve an uplift in the hourly rate or fixed fee arrangement at any time during the course of the appointment of the lawyer.
