The Māori Land Court is conducting an
inquiry to establish the successors to SILNA lands pursuant to Section 29, Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 in accordance
with an application filled by the Minister of Māori Affairs, currently under application A20180009373.
COPY FEES
Please note: The Māori Land Court Fees
Regulations 2013 set the following fees for copying
records (regardless of whether or not it is supplied
electronically or as a hard copy):
• 20c per black and white page
• 40c per colour page
There is limited discretion to reduce or waive this fee,
however this is considered on a case by case basis
and large requests, or those that require significant
research, may incur a fee.
The changes in the Act respond to demand to build
papakāinga housing on Māori land for the purposes of
supporting Māori into housing and whānau to return to
their whenua.
If this is not done, the Court may direct that formal notice
be given to the beneficiaries.
5 Wills
Wills do not apply to these successions to SILNA Lands under the Court’s inquiry under section 29 of Te Ture Whenua Māori
Act 1993.
An appeal under Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 may only be lodged within 2 months from the date of the
decision or determination, unless accompanied by an application seeking leave to appeal out of time on Form 1.
In
such cases form 13 should be completed.
