Local Government (Rating) Act 2002 The Local Government Act 2002 has power to grant and discharge charging orders over Māori land for payment of outstanding rates.
Use this form when exchanging some or all of your interests in Māori Land by sale or gift with some or all of the Māori Land interests of a different owner in a different block of Māori Land.

Charging orders – water services charges In certain situations, Māori landowners may have to pay for water services. If an owner of Māori freehold land in multiple ownership has paid more than their share of water services changes, they can apply to the Māori Land Court for a “charging order” to recover the excess amount paid.
Getting permission is important so water service providers can do their work and landowners know what is happening on their land. Landowners may need to pay for water services charges.
