Why make this change?
Succession to Māori land interests can be complex for whānau
and for whāngai, and Māori land is often owned by members
of different whānau (with different views on whāngai
succession).
This is an opportunity to assist in reconnecting with and
developing a significant Māori land block, which has
remained idle for many decades, into a productive asset for
our whānau and future generations.
