This direction is issued pursuant to rule 3.8(1)(b) Māori Land Court Rules 2011 and a copy
is to be sent to the Kaiwhakawā Matua, the Kairēhita Matua, and the Kairēhita of the
Waiariki District Registry of the court.
Then lastly, the Court, of its own motion pursuant to section 37(3) of the Act makes a
further order as follows:
Pursuant to section 183(4) of the Act appointing Ropata Taylor and Ihaia Raharuhi as
interim agents for the purposes set out in section 183(6) on behalf of all the owners,
and in particular to negotiate with the Tasman District Council in respect of the council’s
occupation of the land.
Determine the terms of trust
The block contains 13.7846 hectares and is situated on 464 Taikatu Road, Otakeho. A
meeting of the owners of the land will be held as follows:

On Friday 29 November, the old Māori Land Court on Lowe Street Gisborne was closed, and the new court opened on Gladstone Road. A crowd of approximately 100 people gathered to witness this transition through the blessing and official opening by Sir Derek Lardelli and his team of kaikarakia of Te Rā Tū, the new Tairāwhiti Māori Land Court.
