To apply for a licence of more than 52 years (a long-term license), you’ll need to complete a General Form ofApplication, and include evidence that at least half of the owners or people who own 50% of the land or 50% of the shares (if the land is vested in an incorporation) have approved the long-term lease .
As a court, we have very broad investigative powers and may appoint examining officers to conduct a full reviewof any part of the incorporation. An investigation of this nature is rare, but can occur if the management committee doesn't follow good business practices.

Charging orders – water services charges In certain situations, Māori landowners may have to pay for water services. If an owner of Māori freehold land in multiple ownership has paid more than their share of water services changes, they can apply to the Māori Land Court for a “charging order” to recover the excess amount paid.
