Since the passing of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, our role is to:
promote the retention of Māoriland in the hands of its owners, whānau and hapū
facilitate the occupation, development and use of Māoriland
ensure that decisions made about Māoriland are fair and balanced taking into account the needs of all the owners and their beneficiaries.
If an owner with Māoriland interests is deceased, and probate, letters of administration or an election to administer
the estate have been granted by High Court, or is to be obtained, you can use this form to seek a determination from
the Court as to those persons entitled to a deceased’s MāoriLand interests and an order transferring the interests to
those entitled.
