Aligning trust procedures to changes in
the Act
You should update your procedures as necessary to reflect the
changes to Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993.
However, it is possible to make application to the Court to have an area excluded from a reservation pursuant to section 338(5), and then to set up an ahu whenua trust in relation to the excluded area with the object of allowing housing development to take place.
The Ministry led changes included legislative
changes to Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, a
new dispute resolution service, improvements tosuccession processes in the Māori Land Court and
changes to the |Court’s operating model.
Use this form to create a Whānau Trust by vesting some or all of your interests in trustees to hold on behalf of the
descendants of a given person or tupuna (the beneficiaries)
