Following an urgent Māori Land Court hearing held on Wednesday, 2 August 2023, the Court has directed that the five separate hui scheduled on Saturday, 5 August 2023 for the following MāoriReservations is CANCELLED:
Whakapoungakau No.7A MāoriReservation;
Whakapoungakau No.7B 2 MāoriReservation;
Whakapoungakau No.7C MāoriReservation;
Whakapoungakau No.7F MāoriReservation; and
Whakapoungakau No.7G Māori
The Court has now directed that a hui of the descendants be called as follows:
• To discuss and consider setting the land aside as a MāoriReservation, including:
o a reservation name and purpose
o for whom reservation may be set aside
o trustees (meeting may elect trustees if a reservation is decided);
• The Court has appointed an independent facilitator for the hui.
The Māori Land Court is notifying all descendants of Mary Naera also known as Mee Naera or Mere Naera Pomare or Mere Nicol or Mere Nikora or Mere Tuhata or Mere Hautonga about the following hui:
